Online Advertising Transparency & Privacy Policy
While DemandQuest is primarily a training institute, from time to time we do accept clients & agencies and help them manage their online marketing strategy. It’s DemandQuest’s policy that for every client that we work with that we provide the following:
- Total Transparency into your actual ad spend. We never pad our numbers with fees, overages, etc. With DemandQuest you will know exactly what you are paying for and in most cases DemandQuest will not bill Google, MS, Facebook or LinkedIn on your behalf. It’s out policy to have our clients pay the Google, MS, Facebook & LinkedIn directly.
- We provide reports for all clients with exact data from Account, Campaign, Keywork, Placement & Ad levels. What you are spending your money on will never be a mystery.
- You own your own account & work product created by DemanQuest. DemandQuest will never hold your account hostage. We supply all of our clients administrative credentials into every account and campaign we create at the point of creation. It will always be our clients decision to continue a relationship with DemandQuest.
- We do not do long term contracts. DemandQuest operates on a month to month basis. DemandQuest will never force you to pay for services that you are not using.
What to watch out for when selecting an agency:
We believe that it’s important for you to have a great experience with AdWords. If this isn’t the case, please let Google know. Be sure to first work with your third-party partner to try to resolve any issues before contacting Google.
Many third parties have earned our trust by representing the best interests of their advertisers. There are some third parties that are not acting in this way. Here are some activities to watch out for and let us know about:
- Not sharing the cost and performance of AdWords campaigns: You have a right to know, at a minimum, the number of clicks, impressions, and cost of your AdWords advertising.
- Guaranteeing ad placement, either on a specific advertising channel or in a specific position: It’s not possible to guarantee a specific ad position on Google.com search results pages. AdWords ad position is determined by an auction and changes dynamically with every new search. Some third parties may only charge you if they achieve your desired ad placement, but those that guarantee a specific position (i.e. the top position every time a user searches for your keyword) are misrepresenting how AdWords works.
- Claiming to be from Google: Ask this person for their name and to email you from their Google.com email address; if you’re still unsure, forward the email to the address above.
- Harassing or bullying you into signing up: Only you can remove your business from the natural or organic search results on Google.com.
- Deceptive pricing: The agency may not use the correct advertising budget as agreed with you — make sure that you get an official copy of your agreement in writing.
- Claiming AdWords will affect your organic or natural ranking: AdWords advertising has no impact on your organic or natural ranking in the search results; the two are completely separate.

General Privacy Practices
Tracking Technologies
Log Files
DemandQuest also collects anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites using log files
There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by DemandQuest. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used by DemandQuest for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the DemandQuest website. For these purposes, we do link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information such as name, email address, address, and phone number.
Cookies
The DemandQuest website uses “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web server. Cookies are not used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize DemandQuest pages, or register with DemandQuest site or services, a cookie helps DemandQuest to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the same DemandQuest website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the DemandQuest features that you customized.
You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the DemandQuest services or websites you visit. DemandQuest keeps track of the websites and pages you visit within DemandQuest, in order to determine what DemandQuest services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within DemandQuest to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.
Flash Cookies and Other Third Party Tracking Technologies
The Adobe Flash Player (and similar applications) use technology to remember settings, preferences and usage similar to browser cookies but these are managed through a different interface than the one provided by your web browser. This technology creates locally stored objects that are often referred to as “Flash cookies.”
DemandQuest does not use Flash cookies.
Advertising
We partner with a third party ad network to either display advertising on our Web site or to manage our advertising on other sites. Our ad network partner uses cookies and Web beacons to collect non-personally identifiable information about your activities on this and other Web sites to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests. If you wish to not have this information used for the purpose of serving you targeted ads, you may opt-out by clicking here http://preferences.truste.com/. Please note this does not opt you out of being served advertising. You will continue to receive generic ads.
Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
We employ [or our third party advertising partner employs] a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We tie [do not tie] the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personally identifiable information.
We use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. If you would like to opt-out of these emails, please see “Choice and Opt-out.”
Third Party Tracking Technologies
The use of cookies and web beacons by any tracking utility company is not covered by our privacy statement. We do not have access or control over these third party tracking technologies.
